These last two weeks have been BAD...like back to my old habits, back to eating food I have worked so hard to stay away from...and back to NOT weighing in because I just didn't want to know the damage that had been done.
Here is my plan: Today is December 21st, including today I have 3 1/2 days at home, meaning total control over my food choices! I am making these 3 1/2 days as healthy as possible and even doing double workouts for 3 of the day!
Then Christmas will be a little scary because there will be SO MANY treats there! The question is HOW DO I APPROACH IT?. Should I try to avoid it all? Should I allow myself to indulge in moderation? But if I do that will I be able to only have a little? If I try to avoid it all, will I just in up caving and going overboard? I have been through it all before and I don't know if there is any winning?!?
Here is what I think I should do, NOT WORRY ABOUT IT!
I am a stress eater, so if I worry and put restrictions on myself then I will just be STRESSING the whole time and basically guarantee that I will either cave there, or cave later and sneak off to buy some junk at the store.
But, if I instead look at it as, it is what it is, then I am much more likely to do okay. I am not going for perfection, I just don't want to go crazy on the Christmas cookies.
That is my advice to you as well. Don't put rules on the day. Focus on spending time with family and enjoying the holiday. No matter what you eat, you can get back on track after the holidays, that's exactly what I plan to do!
Then I will also start my next challenge group on January 4th! Prep will start the 31st and then the group will run all of January giving support, motivation and inspiration to stick to your fitness and nutrition goals for ALL of January!
